Classic Casting Adventures provides fly fishing or spin casting adventures in Southeast Alaska’s Tongass National Forest. We offer fly out and boat access fishing adventures departing from beautiful Sitka, Alaska.  Promoting catch and release fishing helps to ensure that the experience of catching wild salmon and trout on the fly in the Tongass is available for future generations.

Tad Kisaka, owner and guide of Classic Casting Adventures, brings the knowledge and experience of growing up fishing. The area’s longest operating freshwater guide, he knows where and when to fish, the challenges presented by Southeast Alaska’s weather, climate, geography, and wildlife, and how to overcome these challenges in pursuit of a perfect day of fly fishing.  Click here for more on Tad Kisaka.

Sitka is located in the heart of the Tongass National Forest which is the nation’s largest national forest. It is comprised of 17 million acres of rugged coastal forest along Alaska’s Southeast coastline. For more information on Sitka, the Tongass, and how to travel here, visit

Southeast Alaska has healthy populations of fish to target with the fly. These include all five Pacific salmon species (chinook, coho, sockeye, chum and pink), steelhead, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, char, and sea bass, and rockfish.

Our trips primarily target fish in the fresh water and tidal areas. For information on the types of fish we catch and the timing of the runs, click here.

Our guiding season is from April 1 to October 31,  but if you are traveling to the area outside of the operating season, feel free to call us to discuss your options.
